I keep needing to look these up. For my reference and for everyone else’s reference, the following are SaskTel’s 3G APN settings
SaskTel 3G
APN: inet.stm.sk.ca
MCC:302
MNC:780
APN type: default
SaskTel MMS
APN: proxy.stm.sk.ca

MMSC: http://mms.sasktel.com
MMS Proxy: mig.sasktel.com
MMS Port: 80

APN Type: mms
There also appears to be an alternate APN which encompasses data and MMS from what I can tell
APN: pda.stm.sk.ca
MMSC: http://mms.sasktel.com
MMS Proxy: mig.sasktel.com
MMS Port: 80
MC: 302

I found this while looking for solutions to a SaskTel/iPhone problem. I brought my iPhone 3G over from Rogers to SaskTel. The iPhone is on iOS 4.2.1, and was able to tether with it while on Rogers. Rogers performed an unlock for me when my contract expired. Now that I’m on SaskTel, the tethering option is missing from the network menu. I’ve read elsewhere that this is a common problem, specifically with “officially” unlocked phones on networks they were not originally locked to.
What I’m looking for is a solution. The phone is of little use to me if I can’t tether with it. Any ideas?
Hi Ken,
I’m sorry I don’t know the answer to your question. Have you tried jail breaking your iPhone rather then carrier unlocking it?
Alex
I have not tried jailbreaking the phone. If I knew for sure that this would allow me to regain my ability to tether I would pursue it. The iPhone 3GS can get the SaskTel 10.1 carrier update through iTunes that will allow for tethering, but my 3G will not download the update. I’ve been looking for a way to force the update but so far have been unsuccessful.
I’ll probably just buy an iPhone 4S unlocked and use the 3G as a TV remote.
I’ll be likely doing the same
Perfect! Just flashed my Galaxy S to CyanogenMod 7 and had no 3g. Set up APNs with the info above and I’m a happy camper! Thanks!
Just flashed my Galaxy Nexus to Cyanogen 10 M2.
In the APN’s I have the same info you give above, but it’s got a name assigned “Sasktel 3G”.
Is there another APN for Sasktel 4G?
More Info about my Sasktel/Galaxy Nexus/Cyanogen 10 M2 situation:
Ok, something’s not right here.
I am getting D/L speeds maxing-out at 1.4Mbps
U/L speeds maxing-out at 0.3Mbps
This is in Saskatoon, River Heights area. I’m pretty sure I was getting much faster rates before swapping over to the Cyanogen Jelly Bean.
3G and 4G are simply marketing terms at the end of the day. The APN’s will work for all HSPA(+) devices
Just had to use this, helpful. The last one is the only one that my phone needed, neither of the other two.
